Italy's incoming government is already split over the solution for Alitalia SpA, the daily MF said, without citing sources.
According to the paper, the incoming economy minister Giulio Tremonti wants to put the flagship carrier into administration using the same law that was used to relaunch Parmalat SpA after it went bankrupt.
Future prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, however, does not want to go back on his pledge to find a buyer, or buyers, for Alitalia, MF said.
The paper said the Northern League, part of the centre-right coalition that won Italy's general elections, also favours putting Alitalia into administration.
The outgoing centre-left government of Romano Prodi, meanwhile, has decided not to dispense the 300 million euro bridge loan that was agreed with representatives of the incoming government for Alitalia, MF said.
The EU still has to decide if the bridge loan amounts to state aid. |
